5 Natural Ways to Ease Back & Neck Pain to Reduce Inflammation

 Are You Feeling Desk-Induced Discomfort?

If you’re spending long hours at your desk (or even in a car or on an airplae) and notice tight shoulders, aching lower back, or neck tension—your body is speaking up.

For women over 50, sitting for too long increases inflammation, stiffness, and pain.
But there’s good news—you don’t need expensive gear or medications to feel better.

You can find essential oils & diffusers on my Favorite Product & DIY Supplies page. I do receive a small commision that helps to support this website of information for you. There is no increase in price and some items have extra savings for you as well, so take a look around.

Try these 5 easy and natural remedies to ease tension and improve comfort throughout your day:

1. Move Every 30 Minutes
Set a timer to stand, stretch, or walk for 1–2 minutes. A good time to refill your water or take a potty break.
These short breaks reset posture, improve circulation, and reduce stiffness.

2. Desk Diffuser Reset
Add 2 drops Rosemary, 2 drops Lavender, and 1 drop Marjoram essential oils to a diffuser.
This calming and refreshing blend relaxes tense muscles and boosts mental focus.

3. Wintergreen for Instant Relief
Dilute Wintergreen essential oil with a carrier oil and massage it into your neck, shoulders, or lower back. Its cooling action relieves tension fast.
Did you know that the synthetic chemical in Ibuprofen that helps to relieve pain is formulated after the natural compound found in Wintergreen?

Another great tool I like is to keep the Deep Blue Stick+ at my desk. It is an easy mess free way to get relief fasy by just applying it to any painful areas.

4. Improve Posture with a Towel Roll
Roll up a towel and place it behind your lower back while sitting. It supports your spine and promotes natural alignment.

 5. DIY “Shoulder Spray”
In a 2 oz spray bottle, add these essential oils:

Before each time you spray be sure to shake the bottle. Oil and water seperate. Spray it on your back or shoulders for instant natural refreshment.
